I have been charged off with HSBC and they still won't budge off the principal so far. Capital One is not charged off yet, but they are also very stubborn. Anyone have any tips for dealing with these 2? Should I just wait them out? On the positive side, Chase settled for 35%! YAY!

Has anyone had any experience with negotiating settlements with credit union credit cards? Most of our debt is tied to the credit union credit cards. Thank you for any help.

Lori, Chase seems to offer 45% before 180 days, but after chargeoff, I got 16%. So hang in there and make some nice low offers.

I am 130 days late and just got an offer of 35% for BOA. I am going to try and hold out for better. Chase, on the other hand, states they want the entire principal of the loan. I hope they are bluffing as i am still holding out. Thanks so much Mandy for showing us the way, it is going exactly as described!

I was wondering if any of you guys have had your credit reduced with other creditors after you have settled with another creditor (I guess they get "wind" of it or talk to each other, etc.). Thanks Mandy-I think it's great that you let this knowledge be accessible to the public
